France and EU intellectual property services
Clear scope first. Clear fees before work begins.
The cost of trademark, design, patent-coordination, dispute and cross-border IP work depends on the right, territory, procedural stage and work required.
Dreyfus does not replace an individual assessment with an unverified one-price-fits-all figure. The written proposal for each instruction explains the applicable fee structure, scope and any charges that may be billed separately.
Why fees vary
What shapes the proposal for your matter?
Useful information at first contact can help identify the right scope sooner. The amount is confirmed only after an individual review and in a written proposal.
Which rights and countries are involved?
The type of right, number of applications or classes, target countries and filing route all affect the work required.
Is this a routine filing or a dispute?
Clearance, filing, office actions, oppositions, invalidity, revocation, negotiation and enforcement involve different tasks and analysis.
Are there urgent dates or missing information?
Procedural deadlines, factual complexity and the availability of evidence and documents may affect the work plan and timing.
What the proposal explains
Separate professional fees from other possible charges
The proposal sets out which structure applies. Under Dreyfus’s published terms, a fixed fee is the general approach, with an itemised proposal available where appropriate.
Professional fees
Fees depend on the agreed services, the nature of the work, the professionals involved and, where relevant, the time required. For services priced by time, Dreyfus can provide its hourly or daily fee schedule on request. Its tariff grid for proceedings before offices in France, Europe and, via local correspondents, other countries is also available on request.
Office fees, taxes and third-party costs
As a rule, Dreyfus’s written proposal sets a fixed fee covering its professional fees and, where applicable, external professional fees, administrative costs and official charges at public rates. By exception, an itemised proposal may show Dreyfus’s fees separately from external fees, expenses, administrative charges and taxes. The proposal confirms what is included and what is billed in addition. Quoted amounts are exclusive of VAT; where applicable, VAT is added at the rate in force when invoiced.
Know the applicable structure before instructing
The proposal identifies the agreed fixed or itemised structure, scope, assumptions and any additional charges. Official fee changes, currency movements or changes in applicable rules may affect the amount where relevant.
How to request a proposal
Share the key facts for a matter-specific scope

- 02
Describe the right, territory and stage
For example, a trademark or patent, France or the EU, and filing, opposition or dispute stage.
- 03
Share the deadline and objective

- 04
Review and accept the written proposal
Confirm scope, fees and engagement terms before substantive work begins.
Important information
This page is not a quotation
This page describes general fee principles. It is not legal advice, a quote or a commitment to act. The scope, fees, taxes, external costs and payment terms for a particular matter are governed by the written proposal and engagement documents issued by Dreyfus and accepted by the client.
Dreyfus does not base its remuneration exclusively on the result expected. For filings or proceedings outside France and the European Union, the proposal will clarify the agreed role and whether external professionals or costs are involved.
Rates available on request
Once the matter scope is identified, Dreyfus can provide its current fee schedule and procedural tariff grid.
Scope before amount
Territory, right and procedural stage define the work.
Written proposal governs
The matter-specific terms take precedence.
